October 27, 2005 :: 5:30 a.m.

It's 5:30 a.m. and this one seems especially bad. In the bathtub now.

Woke him up at 5 a.m.. He said it got really bad really fast. It felt like there were FOUR of them, and they got bigger and spread until they were too big for his head. Very throbby and intense, a 6 or 7 constantly with spikes up to 8 or 9.

His skin is itchy and he doesn't understand how he can feel anything except the head pain right now.

He says it's at a 5 or 6 now and that is IMPOSSIBLY painful, so how could it hurt any worse than this? He keeps repeating, among other things, "This doesn't make any sense." I'm amazed he can even form complete sentences.

He says it feels like he's faking it because HOW could anything hurt this bad and not kill him?

5:40 it's still horrible, maybe getting worse after a brief respite. They are lasting a LONG time this cycle. And they seem particularly bad.

PROMETHEUS: The mythological figure who, after stealing fire from the gods and giving it to humans, was punished by being tied to a tree (I think) and having his liver eaten out by vultures every day. Every night he would be made whole again, only to have the entire thing begin again the next day.

5:45 a.m. Now he's singing "Peaches" manically. Millions of peaches, peaches for me, millions of peaches, peaches for free, peaches come in a can, they are made by a man, at a factory downtown...

Now it's at 3/4/5 level. He's singing "All You Zombies."

11:30 p.m. He fell asleep early and woke up with one. It got kinda bad. We had sex, and it was like the dam broke and the pain just rushed out horribly bad... but then ramped down very quickly afterwards.
