Once again I woke up briefly when Katy left for work and was cognitive enough to realise I had a bretty nasty headache that I was sleeping through. It was at least a level one. By the time I got up about an hour later it had faded to the dull annoying pain I am still feeling. this dull pain seems to be switching sides in waves and is somewhat constant.
I am now convinced I am sleeping through level 1-2 headaches every night.

Have you ever had an MRI? A headache that awakens you from sleep may be an indicator of something much more serious, especially if you are having them every night...

I have been in scanners (CAT scan) several times and I have checked myself into the hospital quite often over the 16-17 years I have been having these. I have been poked and prodded by more doctors than you can imagine...
I know exactly what they are.
The whole blog is devoted to it in fact. : )
There is no confusion, regularly timed headaches is a primary symptom of cluster. Other physiological causes were ruled out long ago. Recently when I started getting migraines on a regular basis as well, we got a new CAT scan and it was also clear.
I can't have a MRI by the way I have 5 fragments of a bullet in my leg and the MRI people won't let me ride the ride. They are afraid they will dislodge a fragment and it will go into my artery.
Never try to stop a robbery. : )
I think I need a statement in the header or something, I'm sure you didn't realize you were posting this comment to a blog containing a history of my condition dating back to 1999 when I started keeping a track of my treatments and headache events. heh
Clusters are pretty serious if you know what kind of pain we are talking about here. But thats another discussion. They are not life threatening, unless you count the suicides that is, and I assume thats what you mean when you mention "Something much more serious". Well, such a thing would have killed me long ago if I had it.
So, I'm good in that respect. : )
