Schedules

The attack I got after the imitrex injection that day was WAY off schedule. I could not afford that. One of the things that makes it so I can remotely live a normal life is the fact that I rarely get really bad ones during the hours that most people work.

If they started shifting around in time I have no idea how I would make a living. Being freelance is helping with that now but I don't know if if will continue to pan out.

Doc.

October 31, 2005

Started feeling one coming on this evening, maybe around 7 p.m.?

Never got very bad, as far as I can tell. He just continued working on his computer.

October 30, 2005 :: 8:15 p.m.

8:15 p.m. Noticed it coming on.

8:19 p.m. took an Axert. It's about a 3 or 4 now.

Doc is singing over and over "OW"

Could get worse.

Jumping up and down.

9?47 still going on. Spiking to a 6 at 8:45.

10:25 finally dissipated.

October 29, 2005 :: 4:30 a.m.

Went to bed at 3 a.m., got up at 4:30 a.m. with one. Tried same sex thing as last night.

6:45 a.m., it came back pretty bad.

Has had a 1 or 2 all day. Woke up with it. Probably from the 6:45 CH and never fully went away. Maybe has peaked at a 2 today. It's been at least 14 hours now with the 1 or 2.

8:20 p.m. About to try an Axert. We made a list in the back of the Curious George Journal of all the medications he's tried. We don't know that he ever actually took any Axert when prescribed in 2003, but he still has samples.

10:40 p.m. Axert makes the pain different. Rounder, not as pointy. But still there.

October 27, 2005 :: 5:30 a.m.

It's 5:30 a.m. and this one seems especially bad. In the bathtub now.

Woke him up at 5 a.m.. He said it got really bad really fast. It felt like there were FOUR of them, and they got bigger and spread until they were too big for his head. Very throbby and intense, a 6 or 7 constantly with spikes up to 8 or 9.

His skin is itchy and he doesn't understand how he can feel anything except the head pain right now.

He says it's at a 5 or 6 now and that is IMPOSSIBLY painful, so how could it hurt any worse than this? He keeps repeating, among other things, "This doesn't make any sense." I'm amazed he can even form complete sentences.

He says it feels like he's faking it because HOW could anything hurt this bad and not kill him?

5:40 it's still horrible, maybe getting worse after a brief respite. They are lasting a LONG time this cycle. And they seem particularly bad.

PROMETHEUS: The mythological figure who, after stealing fire from the gods and giving it to humans, was punished by being tied to a tree (I think) and having his liver eaten out by vultures every day. Every night he would be made whole again, only to have the entire thing begin again the next day.

5:45 a.m. Now he's singing "Peaches" manically. Millions of peaches, peaches for me, millions of peaches, peaches for free, peaches come in a can, they are made by a man, at a factory downtown...

Now it's at 3/4/5 level. He's singing "All You Zombies."

11:30 p.m. He fell asleep early and woke up with one. It got kinda bad. We had sex, and it was like the dam broke and the pain just rushed out horribly bad... but then ramped down very quickly afterwards.

I woke up at 2:30 when I heard a yell from the bathroom. Says he was sleeping except during pain spikes. At 2:50, went back to bed.

October 25, 2005

It started (I woke) at about a level 2 but it was more like a 4-5 with 6ish spikes by the time Katy heard me.

I was so tired that I couldn't stay awake in between the spikes.

Got a pretty bad one, 3-5, that broke by 12:00 but lingered.

Went to bed early because I figured I was done.

Awoke at 2:40 with a new attack in progress, already a 2-3-ish

2:50 now at 5 or more
2:55 OK it is really bad now.
3:00 still really bad

Got very bad and lasted forever... at least until 4, and it was still a 1 or 2 then.

October 20, 2005 :: 5 a.m.

This really sucks.

October 19, 2005 :: 6 a.m.

Woke at 6 a.m. Mild (for me) headache.

I'd been having bad dreams. Head got worse over the day so for so I tried the thumper on the back of my neck... not very good.

2 p.m. The end of this pen is being snuffled...
Went away mostly around 12:30 but now at 4 p.m. it is killing me. About a 4-5, very bad, very painful. I'm yelling out uncontrollably. Oh shit this hurts. Pen is still getting snuffled. OW...

4:17 -- a 6-7 now
4:20 -- a 7-8 now... screaming
4:31 -- breaking now, a 5-6
4:42 calming down more, 3-4
5:09 down to about a 1-2 now

Saturday, October 15, 2005

October 15, 2005 :: 3 p.m.

Had fairly bad cluster attack at around 3 p.m. at the IKEA store.

Friday, October 14, 2005

October 14, 2005 :: 1 a.m.

Really bad one, maybe an 8 or 9. Went out tonight and he had a beer. It didn't even occur to me that he shouldn't do that because he's beginning a cycle. I don't know what I was / was not thinking -- I should have been more vigilant than that and at least said "you sure you want to do this?" I'm not sure if it didn't occur to him or if he thought about it and did it anyway (because if he doesn't ever go out and have fun or have a drink when he's not feeling well, then he'll never do anything).

Anyway, of course it was a bad idea. I started noticing him going into "headache mode" around 1 a.m. We got home about 2 a.m. and it was getting bad. Paced, tried to be one with the pain, but it was too damn painful. He's now in the bathtub.

October 13, 2005

Getting relatively painful attacks nightly.

Driven to the bath tonight. Not in the mood for this again.

OMG! WTF! LOL - SUXXORS. K?

October 11, 2005 :: 3:18 a.m.

First one severe enough to wake him in the middle of the night for a bath.

But it's probably been happening every night for a while now. Has had nearly constant mild ones for a couple of weeks, as is usual when he's going into a cycle. Had a "3" or so, in the afternoon, sometime last week. Says that this one is a 5 or a 6.
